THE PARSNIP SHIP is an intimate series of plays performed before live audiences then made accessible as a monthly podcast. The Parsnip Ship re-imagines the experience of the radio play by pairing emerging playwrights and independent musicians for live episodes that are released as a free podcast. We cultivate distinct new artists for audiences who crave innovative and accessible stories and storytellers. Our live events and audio podcasts are surprising, eclectic, and transformative, creating communities in person and digitally. Hosted by Iyvon Edebiri, and recorded live every month in Brooklyn, The Parsnip Ship is available on iTunes, Spotify, and Stitcher.

GREAT AMERICAN DREAMERS
Sunday, June 23, 2019
GREAT AMERICAN DREAMERS consists of two plays, LULU’S CHARMS IN THE DARK and RIVERVIEW RITZ. Set decades apart in the same employee boarding house located in the once grand Riverview Amusement Park, the roommates are thrown together in sparse living quarters. While the poverty and very real chaos that exists outside of Parks gates is seldom forgotten, each character strives toward the promise of the illusive high life. Their struggles to achieve ease and riches varies, yet all are imbued with a sense of hope. They are the great American Dreamers.
